Ben Simmons' Injury Status For Nets-Heat Game

Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the Brooklyn Nets will be in Florida to face off against the Miami Heat.

For the game, they will remain without one of their best players, as Ben Simmons has been ruled out.

The former LSU star has missed each of the previous four games, so this will be his fifth straight out of the lineup.

Recently, the Nets announced an update on Simmons (h/t Brian Lewis of The New York Post).

Via The Nets: "Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons, who has missed the past three games with a left hip contusion, underwent an MRI due to lingering discomfort in the area. The imaging revealed a nerve impingement in the lower left side of his back. Simmons will continue to receive treatment on both his hip and back. A status update will be provided in one week."

Simmons has played in six games so far this season and is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per contest while shooting 52.8% from the field.

The Nets are 6-5 in their first 11 games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Most recently, they defeated the Orlando Magic by a score of 124-104, and Spencer Dinwiddie led the way with 29 points.

As for the Heat, they are 7-4 in their first 11 games and in the middle of a six-game winning streak.

Most recently, they defeated the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 111-105, and six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler led the way with 32 points.
