Ben Simmons' Injury Status For Wizards-Nets Game

Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

On Sunday afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets will host the Washington Wizards at Barclays Center in New York.

For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as Ben Simmons has been ruled out.  

Simmons has missed each of the previous two games, so this will be his third straight out of action.

Simmons has played in six games this season and is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per contest while shooting 52.8% from the field. 

The Nets are 4-5 in their first nine games and 1-3 in the four games they have hosted at Barclays Center.  

Most recently, they lost to the Boston Celtics (on the road) by a score of 121-107. 

Lonnie Walker IV led the team with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block while shooting 8/12 from the field and 3/4 from the three-point range in 20 minutes of playing time. 

Simmons is in his second season playing for the Nets and is coming off a year where he averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 56.6% from the field. 

Following the Wizards, the Nets will play their next game against the Orlando Magic (at home) on Tuesday evening in New York. 

As for the Wizards, they are 2-6 in their first eight games, and most recently lost to the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 124-117.  

They will play their next game against the Toronto Raptors (on the road) on Tuesday.
