Ben Simmons Injury Update Before Nets-Hawks Game

The Brooklyn Nets have provided an injury update on Ben Simmons.

On Wednesday evening, the Brooklyn Nets will be in Georgia to face off against the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena.  

For the game, the Nets will remain without one of their best players, as Ben Simmons has been ruled out

The former LSU star has missed each of the previous six games, and the Nets also announced an injury update

Via The Nets: "Ben Simmons (left lower back nerve impingement) is continuing to improve with treatment and has begun light individual court work. Simmons, who has missed the past six games, will have his status updated again in 7-10 days."

Simmons has played in six games so far this season and is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per contest while shooting 52.8% from the field. 

The Nets are 6-7 in their first 13 games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak. 

They are 5-5 in their previous ten games and 3-3 in the six games they have played on the road away from Barclays Center in New York. 

Simmons is in his second season playing for the Nets, and is coming off a year where he averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 56.6% from the field in 42 games. 

Following the Hawks, the Nets will play their next game on Saturday evening when they host the Miami Heat in Brooklyn. 

As for the Hawks, they are 6-7 in their first 13 games, and in the middle of a three-game losing streak.
