Boston Celtics Player Could Be Out For Next 6 Games

Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard could miss the next six games.

The Boston Celtics will begin a six-game road trip on Saturday night when they visit the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia.

However, they could end up being without one of their backup guards for the next six games.

On Thursday, head coach Joe Mazzulla said he isn't sure if Payton Pritchard will be with them for the trip (via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe).

Washburn: "Payton Pritchard may miss extended with his left heel injury. Mazzulla uncertain if he’ll make six-game road trip. Two-way rookie JD Davison make stay on roster for relief. #Celtics"

The former Oregon star is in his third season in the NBA but has seen limited playing time this year.

Currently, Pritchard has averages of 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest in 45 games.

That said, he is playing a career-low 12.5 minutes per contest.

During his rookie season, he averaged 7.7 points per contest while shooting 41.1% from the three-point range.

Right now, the Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA.

They are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 46-21 record in 67 games (2.0 games back of the Milwaukee Bucks for first).

Over the last ten games, they are 5-5, and they are an outstanding 20-12 in the 32 games they have played on the road away from Boston.

The franchise has been to the Eastern Conference Finals in four out of the last six seasons, and in 2022 they made the NBA Finals.
