BREAKING: Joel Embiid's Updated Status For 76ers-Nuggets Game

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Joel Embiid has been ruled out.

UPDATE: The 76ers have announced their starting lineup (without Embiid) for Saturday's game.

On Saturday, the Denver Nuggets are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers in Colorado.

Right before the game, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that 2023 MVP Joel Embiid has been ruled out.

Via Wojnarowski: "Joel Embiid is out vs. Nuggets, source says."

The news comes as a surprise since he hadn't been on the earlier injury report and was expected to face off against Nikola Jokic for a highly anticipated matchup.

Embiid is currently in the middle of an incredible season and is averaging 36.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 53.9% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 33 games.

The 76ers are also among the best teams in the league and have a 29-14 record in their first 43 games.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and 12-8 in the 20 games they have played on the road.

In their most recent matchup, the 76ers lost to the Indiana Pacers by a score of 134-122.

Embiid had 31 points, seven rebounds and three assists while shooting 11/20 from the field and 2/4 from the three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

As for the Nuggets, they are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 31-15 record in their first 46 games.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the New York Knicks by a score of 122-84.
