BREAKING: Jordan Poole's Injury Status For Hawks-Wizards Game

Jordan Poole has been ruled out for Saturday's game.

On Saturday evening, the Washington Wizards will host the Atlanta Hawks.  

Before the game, the Wizards announced that they would be without one of their best players, as Jordan Poole has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.    

Via The Wizards: "Update: Jordan Poole is now OUT (left ankle soreness).

Corey Kispert will start in his place."

Poole is averaging 17.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 39.9% from the field and 28.6% from the three-point range. 

Bijan Todd of Monumental Sports Network added more details about Poole's injury. 

Via Todd: "Jordan Poole tweaked his ankle during warmups tonight and is OUT vs. Atlanta. Corey Kispert gets the start for him."

The Wizards are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 2-13 record in their first 15 games.

They are in the middle of an eight-game losing streak and are 1-9 in their last ten games. 

Most recently, the Wizards lost to the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 131-128 in Wisconsin on Friday. 

Poole played 34 minutes and had 26 points, five rebounds and seven assists while shooting 9/20 from the field and 1/6 from the three-point range.

Following the Hawks, the Wizards will play their next game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday in Michigan. 

Poole is in his fifth season in the NBA (and his first with the Wizards). 

Last year, the 2022 NBA Champion averaged 20.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 33.6% from the three-point range.
