OFFICIAL UPDATE: Kevin Durant Injury Update Reported On Thursday

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium has reported an injury update on Phoenix Suns NBA All-Star Kevin Durant.

UPDATE: The Phoenix Suns have officially announced an injury update on Kevin Durant.

Via The Suns: "INJURY UPDATE: Further evaluation has confirmed that Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has sustained a left ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks."

On Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Suns beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 132-101 to pick up their fourth win in a row.

13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant was supposed to make his home debut (he played his first three games for the Suns on the road) but slipped and fell during warmups.

Therefore, the future Hall of Famer was ruled out for the contest right before tip-off.

On Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported an injury update on Durant.

Charania's first tweet: "Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks with his left ankle sprain and return based on rehab progress, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Swelling has gone down in the ankle, which Durant injured slipping in pregame warmups Wednesday."

Charania's second tweet: "The Suns and Durant are hopeful of progress during the re-evaluation window that allows for the 13-time All-Star to return to action shortly after two weeks, sources said. Good news for KD and Phoenix following scary fall in warmups."

Durant was traded (via the Brooklyn Nets) in a blockbuster deal last month.

His addition to the Suns makes them arguably the most talented team in the NBA.

Losing Durant is unfortunate, but as long as he is ready to go for the playoffs, that will be all that matters.

Right now, the Suns are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 37-29 record in 66 games.

They are 7-3 in their last ten games and will play their next game on Saturday night when they host the Sacramento Kings in Arizona.

In his first three games with the Suns, Durant averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest.

He also shot an outstanding 69.0% from the field and 53.8% from the three-point range.
