BREAKING: Scoot Henderson's Injury Status In Trail Blazers-Rockets Game

Scoot Henderson has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's game.

UPDATE: Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report and the NBA on TNT provided an update on Henderson.

Via Haynes: "Portland Trail Blazers No. 3 pick Scoot Henderson will undergo an MRI on his right shoulder after sustaining the injury today against the Houston Rockets, league sources tell @NBAonTNT@BleacherReport. There’s optimism it’s not a dislocation."

On Friday evening, the Portland Trail Blazers are facing off against the Houston Rockets at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All eyes were on Scoot Henderson, who was the third pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and has the potential to be an All-Star one day.

During the game, the 19-year-old suffered a shoulder injury, and the Trail Blazers have announced that he has been ruled out for the rest of the evening.

Via Trail Blazers PR: "INJURY UPDATE: Scoot Henderson (R shoulder) will not return to today’s @NBASummerLeague game @ HOU."

Henderson finished the game with 15 points, five rebounds, six assists and one steal while shooting 5/13 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range in 21 minutes of playing time.

While it's unclear if the injury is severe, it would make sense for the team to be extra cautious (even if it is minor).

The Trail Blazers have been one of the better teams in the NBA over the past decade (they made the Western Conference Finals in 2019).

However, they are coming off two seasons in a row where they have missed the NBA playoffs. This past year, the Trial Blazers were the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 33-49 record.

They have All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, who averaged a sensational 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest while shooting 46.3% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range.

That said, it's unclear if Lillard will still be on the team next season.
