BREAKING: Warriors Starter Ruled Out For Pelicans Game

Klay Thompson has been ruled out for Monday's game.

On Monday evening, the Golden State Warriors will face off against the New Orleans Pelicans (on the road).     

For the game, they will be without two of their best players, as Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga have been ruled out.     

Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic: "Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga are both out tonight in New Orleans. Knee soreness for Thompson, knee contusion for Kuminga."

Thompson has played in each of the team's first three games and is averaging 17.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 47.6% from the field and 40.0% from the three-point range. 

The Warriors are 2-1 in their first three games and coming off a 106-95 victory over the Houston Rockets in Texas on Sunday night. 

Steph Curry led the Warriors with 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 31 minutes of playing time, while Thompson put up 19 points, four rebounds and one block in 29 minutes. 

As for Kuminga, he has also played in the team's first three games and is averaging 11.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 44.4% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range. 

Meanwhile, the Pelicans are 2-0 to start the season and most recently defeated the New York Knicks 96-87.

Brandon Ingram led the way with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Zion Williamson and C.J. McCollum combined to score 36.

Following the game, the Warriors will host the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, and the Pelicans will visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on the same night.
