BREAKING: Zion Williamson's Status For Pelicans-Jazz Game

Zion Williamson has been ruled out for Saturday's game.

On Saturday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans will be in Salt Lake City to face off against the Utah Jazz.  

For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as Zion Williamson has been ruled out. 

Via Christian Clark of NOLA.com: "Zion Williamson is out tonight against Jazz. Hasn’t played on second night of a back-to-back yet this season."

Williamson has played in 13 games so far this season and is averaging 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 54.7% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.  

The Pelicans are 9-7 in their first 16 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference. 

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and most recently defeated Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 116-106. 

In 34 minutes of playing time, Williamson had 32 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 13/25 from the field. 

Williamson is coming off a year where he played in 29 games and had averages of 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. 

On Monday evening, the Jazz and Pelicans will face off (again) in Salt Lake City. 

As for the Jazz, they are 4-11 in their first 15 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference. 

They are in the middle of a four-game losing streak and 3-4 in the seven games they have played at home.
