UPDATE: Darius Garland's Injury Status For Thunder-Cavs Game

Darius Garland is listed as questionable for Friday's game.

UPDATE: Chris Fedor of cleveland.com reports that Darius Garland has been ruled out. 

On Friday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers are hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder in Ohio for their second game of the regular season.     

For the game, they could be without one of their best players, as Darius Garland is listed as questionable.

Garland played in the team's first game on Wednesday against the Nets in Brooklyn.

He had 15 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals in 32 minutes of playing time, and the Cavs won a thriller by a score of 114-113.   

The former Vanderbilt star is coming off an impressive year where he averaged 21.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field and 41.0% from the three-point range. 

Garland was the fifth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career with Cleveland. 

In 2022, he was an All-Star, and he has career averages of 18.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 44.9% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range in 251 regular season games.

Last year, the Cavs made the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2018 season, but they lost in the first round to the New York Knicks (in five games). 

As for the Thunder, they won their first game of the season (on Wednesday) against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center by a score of 124-104. 

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 31 points and ten assists.
