Deandre Ayton's Injury Status For Suns-Lakers Game

Deandre Ayton has been ruled out for Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Suns will face off with the Los Angeles Lakers in California.

For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as starting center Deandre Ayton has been ruled out due to a hip injury.

This will be his second straight game out of the starting lineup.

The former Arizona star is in the middle of another productive year with averages of 18.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest in 61 games (while shooting 58.9% from the field).  

He is in his fifth season in the league and has helped the Suns become one of the best teams.  

They made the NBA Finals in 2021 and had the best record (64-18) last season. 

Right now, the Suns are the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 38-33 record in 71 games. 

Over the last ten games, they are 5-5, and they are 15-21 in the 36 games they have played on the road away from Phoenix. 

As for the Lakers, they are tied with the New Orleans Pelicans for the 11th seed in the Western Conference and have a 35-37 record in 72 games. 

They are 6-4 in their last ten games and 19-17 in the 36 games they have hosted on their home floor in Los Angeles, California. 

Currently, the Lakers are just a half-game back of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz (who are tied for the final two play-in tournament spots).
