UPDATE: Deandre Ayton's Injury Status For Trail Blazers-Timberwolves Game

Deandre Ayton is on the injury report for Friday's game.

UPDATE: Deandre Ayton has been ruled out (h/t Casey Holdahl).   

On Friday evening, the Portland Trail Blazers will be in Minnesota to face off against the Timberwolves at the Target Center. 

For the game, the Trail Blazers will likely be without one of their best players, as starring center Deandre Ayton is listed as doubtful on the injury report. 

The former Arizona star has missed each of the previous nine games, so this would be his tenth straight out of the lineup.

Ayton has played in 24 games and is averaging 13.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 54.8% from the field. 

He is in his first season with Portland after spending five seasons with the Phoenix Suns. 

The Trail Blazers are the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 10-27 record in their first 37 games. 

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are 3-7 over their last ten games.

Following the Timberwolves, the Trail Blazers will host Kevin Durant and the Suns on Sunday evening in Oregon.  

As for the Timberwolves, they are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 26-11 record in their first 37 games. 

Most recently, they lost to Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics by a score of 127-120 (in overtime).  

Following the Trail Blazers, the Timberwolves will host James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday evening at the Target Center. 

At home, they are 14-2 in 16 games.
