Donovan Mitchell's Status For Pelicans-Cavs Game

Donovan Mitchell is on the injury report for Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host the New Orleans Pelicans in Ohio.  

For the game, the Cavs will be without their best player, as All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell has been ruled out.   

Mitchell also missed the team's last game, so this is his second straight out of the lineup.

Mitchell has played in 22 games so far this season and is averaging 27.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 35.1% from the three-point range. 

The Cavs are 16-12 in their first 28 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. 

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.  

Most recently, the Cavs beat the Utah Jazz by a score of 124-116 (Mitchell did not play in the game). 

Following the Pelicans, the Cavs will play their next game on Saturday evening when they visit Coby White and the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. 

As for the Pelicans, they are 16-12 in their first 28 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.  

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently lost to Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies by a score of 115-113. 

Following the Cavs, the Pelicans will play their next game on Saturday evening when they host Dillon Brooks and the Houston Rockets in New Orleans.
