Former NBA 2nd Overall Pick Will Miss The Entire Season

On Trae Young's podcast (From The Point), Lonzo Ball (Chicago Bulls) said that he will miss the 2023-24 NBA season.

Lonzo Ball was initially the second pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of UCLA by the Los Angeles Lakers.

The talented point guard had a lot of hype coming into the league and (when healthy) has been an outstanding all-around player.

That said, Ball has dealt with injuries and is coming off a year where he missed the entire season.

Recently, the 25-year-old was on Trae Young's podcast (From The Point) and shared that he will also miss the 2023-24 NBA season (the full episode can be watched here).

Ball via Young's podcast: "I just had a really big surgery, hopefully, the last one I ever have to get. It's a long process; I'm already out this whole next season."

Ball spent the first two seasons of his career with Los Angeles and the next two with the New Orleans Pelicans.

He has only played in 35 games with the Bulls, but when he was available (in 2021-22), they were one of the best teams in the league with a 22-13 record (they ended up losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the NBA playoffs).

This past year (without Ball), they were 40-42 and lost to the Miami Heat in the play-in tournament (they were the tenth seed).

Despite their down season, the Bulls have one of the best rosters in the east with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.

As for Ball, he has career averages of 11.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.6 steals per contest in 252 regular season games.
