Joel Embiid's Injury Status For 76ers-Hawks Game

Joel Embiid is on the injury report for Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers will be in Georgia to face off against the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena.     

For the game, they will be without their best player, as Joel Embiid has been ruled out. 

The 2023 MVP also missed the team's last game, so this will be his second straight out of the lineup.  

Via Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium on Tuesday: "76ers star Joel Embiid is out for Wednesday's game vs. Hawks in Atlanta due to left knee swelling. He missed Saturday's game and the last two days of practice with the issue."

Embiid has played in 27 games and is averaging 34.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 53.5% from the field and 36.0% from the three-point range. 

The 76ers are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 23-12 record in their first 35 games. 

That said, they are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are 5-5 over their last ten games. 

Following Wednesday's game with the Hawks, the 76ers will host the Sacramento Kings on Friday evening in Philadelphia.

As for the Hawks, they are the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 14-21 record in their first 35 games. 

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are 4-6 over their last ten games. 

Following the 76ers, the Hawks will remain at home to host Buddy Hield and the Indiana Pacers on Friday evening.
