Joel Embiid Injury Update After 76ers-Warriors Game

Joel Embiid got injured at the end of Tuesday's game.

On Tuesday evening, Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers faced off against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Embiid made his return to the lineup after a two-game absence and finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals while shooting 5/18 from the field and 2/6 from the three-point range in 30 minutes of playing time.

The 76ers lost by a score of 119-107, but the more significant concern was that Embiid got injured in the fourth quarter (h/t Bleacher Report).

After the game, ESPN's Kendra Andrews provided an update.

Via Andrews: "Nick Nurse says that the injury that forced Embiid to leave the game in the fourth quarter was unrelated to the injury that has held him out recently. Embiid will get an MRI."

Embiid is in the middle of another incredible season and has averages of 35.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field and 36.6% from the three-point range in 34 games.

As for the 76ers, they dropped to 29-17 in their first 46 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games but are in the middle of a four-game losing streak.

Following the Warriors, the 76ers will travel to Salt Lake City to face off against the Utah Jazz on Thursday evening.

Embiid was the third pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and is in his eighth season playing in the league (all with the 76ers).
