UPDATE: Joel Embiid's Official Injury Status For Celtics-76ers Game

Joel Embiid is officially listed as questionable for Game 4.

UPDATE: Joel Embiid is available.

On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers are hosting the Boston Celtics for Game 4 of their second-round playoff series.

For the game, Joel Embiid is officially listed as questionable.

The 2023 NBA MVP missed two games in a row with a knee injury but returned for Games 2 and 3.

Via Underdog NBA: "Joel Embiid (knee) listed questionable for Sunday."

The 76ers won Game 1 in Boston (without Embiid) behind James Harden's incredible 45-point performance.

They have lost each of the last two games (with Embiid), so they are now down 2-1 in the series.

Game 4 will be pivotal for the 76ers because a loss would put them in a 3-1 hole going back to Boston for Game 5 on Tuesday evening.

On Saturday, Austin Krell of The Painted Lines relayed an update on Embiid from head coach Doc Rivers.

Via Krell: "Doc Rivers says that Joel Embiid woke up today and felt great physically, which is a positive sign for how he’s progressing.

Laughingly said that one of the Analytics guys asked “Can [Joel] play 48 minutes?”, to which the answer was obviously no."

The 76ers are the third seed in the Eastern Conference, and they swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round.

Embiid has averaged 21.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.2 blocks per contest through his first five 2023 NBA Playoff games.

Whoever wins the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and face off agent either the New York Knicks or the Miami Heat.
