On Wednesday evening, the New York Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 106-95 in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series.

With the victory, the Knicks have now advanced to the second round and eliminated the Cavs from the NBA Playoffs.

However, a significant concern was the fact that All-Star forward Julius Randle got injured during the game and did not return.

Following the win, SNY's Ian Begley reported an update on the former Kentucky star.

Via Begley: "NYK’s Julius Randle was walking cautiously in the post-game locker room but league sources told SNY that the early impression is the sprain is not as severe as Randle’s prior ankle ailment. He missed two weeks for that previous ankle injury and returned for Game 1 of Cavs series."

Randle finished his night with 13 points, four rebounds and six assists in 16 minutes of playing time.

He is coming off a fantastic season where he averaged 25.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per contest while shooting 45.9% from the field in 77 games.

The Knicks won their first playoff series since the 2013 season (when they still had Carmelo Anthony on the roster).

They will face off against either the Miami Heat or the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round (the series is currently 3-1 in favor of the Heat, with Game 5 taking place on Wednesday evening in Milwaukee).

Randle's health will be a significant factor, and more updates will likely come in the following days.
