Karl-Anthony Towns' Final Injury Status For Thunder-Timberwolves Game

Karl-Anthony Towns has been upgraded to available for Friday's game.

On Friday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves are hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Target Center in Minneapolis for the final play-in tournament game.

The winner of the contest will advance to the NBA Playoffs as the eighth seed in the Western Conference and face off with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Meanwhile, the loser will head home for the 2023 offseason.

For Friday's game, the Timberwolves will have one of their best players in the starting lineup, as Karl-Anthony Towns has been upgraded to available.

The three-time NBA All-Star played in 29 regular season games and had solid averages of 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest while shooting 49.5% from the field.

He was the first pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky and has spent his entire career with the organization.

Last year, Towns helped lead the Timberwolves to the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the 2018 season.

They finished the 2023 regular season with a 42-40 record and lost their first play-in tournament game 108-102 to the Los Angeles Lakers (in California) on Tuesday night.

Towns played 41 minutes and had 24 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks while shooting 8/12 from the field.

As for the Thunder, they won their first play-in tournament game 123-118 over the New Orleans Pelicans on the road in Louisiana on Wednesday night.
