BREAKING: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's Injury Status In Heat-Nuggets Game

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope went to the locker during Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

UPDATE: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has returned to the game.

On Thursday evening, the Denver Nuggets are hosting the Miami Heat in Colorado for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.         

During the game, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope went to the locker room with a leg injury.

That said, the 2020 NBA Champion has returned to the bench. 

Via Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports: "Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was back on the Nuggets' bench during that timeout. Looks like he's riding a bike near Denver's sideline to stay loose."

The veteran shooting guard has been an essential part of the Nuggets this season with averages of 10.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field and 42.3% from the three-point range. 

He helped them finish as the first seed in the Western Conference, and they have defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves (eighth seed), Phoenix Suns (fourth seed) and Los Angeles Lakers (seventh seed) through the first three rounds. 

Caldwell-Pope is in his tenth season in the NBA and has also had stints with the Detroit Pistons, Lakers and Washington Wizards (in addition to the Nuggets). 

This is his 46th NBA Playoff game and he has career averages of 10.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field and 38.2% from the three-point range during the postseason.
