Kevin Durant Made NBA History In Suns-Jazz Game

Kevin Durant moved ahead of Kobe Bryant on the NBA's all-time rebounding list.

On Sunday evening, the Phoenix Suns are in Salt Lake City facing off against the Utah Jazz. 

During the game, Kevin Durant made NBA history by moving up on the all-time rebounding list.  

Durant came into the evening with 7,045 career rebounds, and he has now moved ahead of Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant (7,047) for 112th on the list. 

The next player for Durant to pass will be Olden Polynice (7,110). 

Durant came into the matchup with averages of 30.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 52.9% from the field and 50.0% from the three-point range in 12 games.   

The Suns are 6-6 in their first 12 games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.  

They most recently defeated the Jazz (also in Salt Lake City) on Friday evening by a score of 131-128.

In 33 minutes of playing time, Durant had 38 points, nine rebounds and nine assists while shooting 15/22 from the field and 6/8 from the three-point range. 

Durant is in his 16th season playing in the NBA and has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets (in addition to the Suns). 

His career averages are 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 49.9% from the field and 38.6% from the three-point range in 998 regular season games. 

He is a two-time NBA Champion (with the Warriors) and has also appeared in 166 NBA playoff games.
