Key Celtics Player Ruled Out Against Nets

Al Horford has been ruled out for Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the Boston Celtics will host the Brooklyn Nets in Massachusetts. 

For the game, they will be without one of their best players, as Al Horford has been ruled out. 

Via Underdog NBA: "Al Horford (injury management) ruled out Friday."

Horford has played in seven games this season and is averaging 5.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 35.0% from the field and 22.7% from the three-point range.  

The Celtics are 5-2 in their first seven games and are in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Most recently, they lost to Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 106-103.

Horford played 26 minutes and had three points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks while shooting 1/6 from the field and 1/6 from the three-point range. 

This is Horford's 17th season in the NBA, and he is coming off a year where he averaged 9.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 47.6% from the field and 44.6% from the three-point range in 63 games.

Following the Nets, the Celtics will play their next game against the Toronto Raptors (at home) on Saturday evening.  

As for the Nets, they are 4-4 in their first eight games and have gone 3-1 in the four games they have played on the road away from Barclays Center in New York.

Following the Celtics, they will play their next game against the Washington Wizards (at home) on Sunday afternoon.
