Key Player Injured In Jazz-Lakers Game

Cam Reddish has been ruled out for the remainder of Tuesday's game.

UPDATE: ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported an update on Reddish.  

Via McMenamin: "Lakers forward Cam Reddish, who left tonight's game after five minutes because of a groin injury and did not return, will undergo further evaluation on Wednesday morning to determine the extent of the injury, sources told ESPN."

On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Utah Jazz in California. 

During the game, Cam Reddish got injured, and he will not return for the remainder of the evening.   

Via ESPN's Dave McMenamin: "Cam Reddish is out for the rest of the game because of groin soreness, the Lakers say."

Reddish has become one of the best role players on the Lakers and came into the evening with averages of 7.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 42.2% from the field and 34.1% from the three-point range in 14 games.   

The Lakers have an 8-6 record in their first 14 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.  

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and 6-1 in the seven games they have hosted in Los Angeles. 

Most recently, the Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets by a score of 105-104 (on Sunday evening) at home.  

In 39 minutes of playing time, Reddish had seven points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals while shooting 3/9 from the field and 1/5 from the three-point range.

This is Reddish's fifth season in the NBA, and he has also played for the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers (in addition to the Lakers).

The former Duke star has career averages of 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 40.0% from the field and 32.4% from the three-point range.
