Key Player Ruled Out For Heat-Celtics Game

Josh Richardson has been ruled out for Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the Miami Heat will play their second game of the regular season when they visit Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in Massachusetts.

However, they will remains without a key contributor, as Josh Richardson has been ruled out. 

Via Underdog NBA: "Josh Richardson (foot) ruled out for Friday."

Richardson is coming off a year where he played for the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans.  

The 30-year-old averaged 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 36.5% from the three-point range.

Over the offseason, he signed with the Heat, and he also missed their first game on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. 

The Heat were able to win 103-102, and Bam Adebayo led the way with 22 points and eight rebounds. 

Richardson has played eight seasons in the NBA, and spent the first four years of his career with Miami.

His career averages are 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 42.8% from the field 36.5% from the three-point range in 503 regular season games (he has also appeared in 30 NBA playoff games). 

Last year, the Heat were the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, but they got to the NBA Finals after defeating the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Conference Finals. 

In the NBA Finals, they lost to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in five games.

The franchise has been to the Finals two times in the previous four seasons.
