Key Player Ruled Out For Thunder-Warriors Game

Gary Payton II has been ruled out for Saturday's game.

On Saturday evening, the Golden State Warriors will host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. 

The two teams also played at the Chase Center on Thursday, and the Thunder won the game by a score of 128-109.  

During the game, Gary Payton II got injured, and he did not return.

For Saturday's game, the former Oregon State star has been ruled out. 

Via ESPN's Kendra Andrews: "Gary Payton II will miss tomorrow's game with a left ankle injury, Steve Kerr said. Payton had an MRI last night. There wasn't substantial damage, Kerr says, but enough where he will be out for a short amount of time."

Payton II has played in 12 games so far this season and is averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range. 

He is one of the best role players (and defenders) on the team. 

As for the Warriors, they are 6-7 in their first 13 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference. 

They are in the middle of a five-game losing streak and 1-5 in the six games they have hosted on their home floor at the Chase Center. 

Following the Thunder, the Warriors will play their next game against the Houston Rockets (at home) on Monday evening. 

As for the Thunder, they are 8-4 in their first 12 games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.
