Khris Middleton's Status For Bucks-Lakers Game

Khris Middleton has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

On Sunday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks will be in California to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Bucks are 1-1 through their first two games of the preseason, while the Lakers have gone 2-2 in their first four.

For Sunday's game, the Bucks will have their two best players, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, in the lineup, but three-time All-Star Khris Middleton has been ruled out.

Via Eric Nehm of The Athletic: "Bucks coach Adrian Griffin confirms that the plan is still for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard to play today in Los Angeles.

Khris Middleton will not play for the Bucks today."

Middleton only played in 33 regular season (and five NBA playoff) games last year and averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest while shooting 43.6% from the field and 31.5% from the three-point range.

The 2021 NBA Champion also had surgery over the offseason.

Outside of his rookie season (with the Detroit Pistons), Middleton has spent every season of his 12-year career with the Milwaukee Bucks.

His career averages are 17.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.7% from the field and 38.8% from the three-point range in 684 regular season games (he has also appeared in 74 NBA playoff games).

Last year, the Bucks were the first seed in the Eastern Conference with the best record in the NBA (58-24).

However, they lost in the first round of the playoffs to Jimmy Butler and the Heat in five games.
