Lauri Markkanen's Injury Status For Pelicans-Jazz Game

Lauri Markkanen has been ruled out for Saturday's game.

On Saturday evening, the Utah Jazz will host the New Orleans Pelicans in Salt Lake City. 

For the game, they will be without their best player, as All-Star Lauri Markkanen has been ruled out.

Markkanen is currently averaging 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 48.4% from the field and 38.3% from the three-point range. 

The Jazz are 4-11 in their first 15 games, which has them as the 13th seed in the Western Conference.  

They are in the middle of a four-game losing streak and most recently lost to the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 121-105. 

In 34 minutes of playing time, Markkanen had 24 points, eight rebounds and three steals while shooting 9/18 from the field and 1/6 from the three-point range. 

Markkanen is in his second year playing for Utah and has also spent time with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers over seven seasons in the NBA. 

On Monday evening, the Jazz will host the Pelicans (again) in Salt Lake City, Utah.  

As for the Pelicans, they are 9-7 in their first 16 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.  

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and most recently defeated James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 116-106. 

Zion Williamson led the way with 32 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 13/25 from the field.
