Key Talent Injured In Lakers Win Over Warriors On Sunday

While they defeated the Golden State Warriors 113-105 on Sunday, Los Angeles Lakers big man Mo Bamba left the game early due to an ankle injury and he did not return.

Los Angeles Lakers center Mohammed Bamba, who the team acquired at the trade deadline, left Sunday's game against the Golden State Warriors early due to an ankle injury.

The injury occurred near the end of the first quarter, as Bamba's left ankle appeared to roll underneath him on the offensive-end of the floor.

Leaving the game, Bamba did not return, as the Lakers ruled him out for the remainder of the game shortly after with a left ankle sprain.

Prior to Sunday's game against the Warriors, Bamba had played in six total games for the Lakers, averaging 5.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 35.7 percent from three-point range.

Supply key minutes behind Anthony Davis, Mo Bamba may now miss some time, taking away yet another option from the Lakers, as LeBron James (foot) and D'Angelo Russell (ankle) continued to deal with injuries.

Ultimately, the Lakers were able to overcome this injury thanks to Anthony Davis' big performance, as the All-Star big man went for 39 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two blocks to lift Los Angeles to a 113-105 victory over Golden State.

With this win, the Lakers won their regular season series against the Warriors 3-1 and they have now pulled within 0.5 games of the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference standings.

Fighting to get into the Play-In Tournament region of the conference standings, this is a big win for the Lakers.

The team will likely give further updates on Bamba's ankle and his status moving forward ahead of their next game on Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
