Los Angeles Lakers Player Reportedly Seen Using A Crutch At Shootaround

ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported an update on Los Angeles Lakers player Mo Bamba.

On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are in San Francisco taking on the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center for Game 1 of their second-round playoff series.

The only player they will be without for the contest is backup center Mo Bamba, who has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.

Before the game, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported an update on the former Texas star.

Via McMenamin: "Lakers backup center Mo Bamba is listed is out for Game 1 against GSW with left ankle soreness. It’s the same ankle that caused him to miss a month late in the regular season. Bamba received an injection to alleviate discomfort in between the first and second rounds, sources told ESPN. He is considered day to day. Bamba was walking with the aid of a crutch at shootaround Tuesday morning"

Bamba was the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and spent the first four and half seasons of his career with the Orlando Magic (before being traded to the Lakers in February).

He played in nine regular-season games with the Lakers (starting in one) and averaged 3.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 40.7% from the field.

So far, he has appeared in three NBA Playoff games and is averaging just 3.3 minutes of playing time per contest.

The Lakers are the seventh seed in the Western Conference and beat the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round in six games.

As for the Warriors, they are the sixth seed and defeated the Sacramento Kings in the first round in seven games.

The winner of the series will advance to the Conference Finals.
