UPDATE: Luka Doncic has been ruled out.

On Monday afternoon, the Dallas Mavericks will host the New Orleans Pelicans in Texas.

For the game, the Mavs will likely remain without their best player, as All-Star Luka Doncic is on the injury report.

Doncic has missed each of the previous two games, so this would be his third straight out of the lineup (if he doesn't play).

Via Underdog NBA: "Luka Doncic (ankle) listed doubtful for Monday."

Doncic has played in 34 games and is averaging 33.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 48.5% from the field and 38.0% from the three-point range.

The Mavs are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 23-17 record in their first 40 games.

They are 5-5 over their last ten games and are 12-9 in the 21 games they have hosted on their home floor in Dallas, Texas.

Most recently, the Mavs lost to the Pelicans (also at home) by a score of 118-108.

Following Monday's matchup, they will travel to California to face off against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday evening.

As for the Pelicans, they are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 24-16 record in their first 40 games.

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and are 12-8 in the 20 games they have played on the road away from New Orleans, Louisiana.

Following the Mavs, the Pelicans will return home to host LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday evening.
