UPDATE: Marcus Smart's Injury Status For 76ers-Celtics Game

Marcus Smart is on the injury report for Game 2.

UPDATE: Marcus Smart is available.

On Wednesday evening, the Boston Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers in Massachusetts for Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.

For the game, one of their most important players is on the injury report.

2022 Defensive Player of The Year Marcus Smart is listed as questionable due to a chest injury.

Via Underdog NBA: "Marcus Smart (chest) questionable for Wednesday."

The former Oklahoma State star doesn't put up huge numbers, but he is their best defender and one of their leaders.

Through the first seven games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Smart has averages of 16.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.

He is also shooting 50.0% from the field and 36.6% from the three-point range.

In the first round, the Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks in six games, but they are coming off a 119-115 loss in Game 1 to the 76ers.

James Harden led the way with 45 points, while Smart had 12 points, three rebounds and seven assists.

The Celtics will need a victory on Wednesday night to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole before going on the road for Games 3 and 4 in Philadelphia.

Last year, the 76ers lost in the second round, while the Celtics made the NBA Finals (they lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games).

Whoever wins the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and face off against either the New York Knicks or the Miami Heat.

That series is tied up at 1-1 with Game 3 on Saturday afternoon in Miami.
