UPDATE: Key Player Could Remain Out For Lakers-Warriors Game

Mo Bamba is questionable for Game 5.

UPDATE: Mo Bamba has been ruled out.

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will be in San Francisco to face off against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center for Game 5 of their second-round playoff series.

For the game, they could remain without backup center Mo Bamba, who is listed as questionable (as of the 4:30 Eastern Time injury report).

Bamba has yet to play in the series and has only played in three NBA Playoff games.

That said, he is the tallest player on the team, so his availability is essential for depth off the bench.

The former Texas star was the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and spent the first four and a half seasons of his career with the Orlando Magic (he was traded to the Lakers in February).

During the 2022-23 regular season, Bamba averaged 7.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 49.5% from the field and 39.8% from the three-point range.

The Lakers have a commanding 3-1 lead over the Warriors, so a victory in Game 5 would end the series.

That said, the Warriors can force a Game 6 back in Los Angeles on Friday night (a potential Game 7 would be in San Francisco on Sunday).

In the first round, the Lakers beat the Grizzlies in six games, while the Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings in seven games.

The winner of the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals and face off against either the Denver Nuggets or the Phoenix Suns.
