The Nets enter the evening as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 33-23 record in 56 games.

They are 4-6 in their last ten games and 16-12 in the 28 games they have played on the road away from Barclays Center.

Right now, the Nets are 2.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the fourth seed.

As for the Knicks, they are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a 31-27 record in 58 games.

They are 6-4 in their last ten games and 15-15 in the 30 they have hosted at Madison Square Garden.

The Miami Heat, who are the sixth seed, are 1.5 games ahead of the Knicks for the final guaranteed playoff spot.

In 2021, the Knicks made the NBA Playoffs for the first time since 2013, but they were unable to build off the success and missed the postseason in 2022.

That said, they have an excellent chance to make the playoffs in 2023.
