Nikola Jokic Makes Bold Statement About Victor Wembanyama Following Spurs-Nuggets Game

Nikola Jokic spoke about Victor Wembanyama following Sunday's game.

On Sunday evening, the Denver Nuggets hosted the San Antonio Spurs in Colorado.

Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets to a 132-120 victory, and he finished the night with 39 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and one steal.   

Following the game, Jokic met with the media and made a bold statement about Spurs' rookie Victor Wembanyama (the full clip can be watched via Jake Shapiro of DenverSports.com).

Jokic: "The guy is 19 years old. He's going to change the game 100%."

Wembanyama finished the game with 22 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, six steals and four blocks while shooting 7/17 from the field and 2/5 from the three-point range in 25 minutes of playing time. 

However, the Spurs are now 3-14 in their first 17 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Western Conference. 

They are in the middle of a 12-game losing streak and will play their next game on Thursday evening when they host Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks in Texas. 

As for the Nuggets, they improved to 11-6 in their first 17 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They snapped a two-game losing streak and are now 5-5 over their previous ten games. 

In addition, the Nuggets are a perfect 8-0 in the eight games they have hosted on their home floor in Denver. 

Following the Spurs, they will play their next game on Monday evening when they visit James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers in California.
