The Pelicans come into the night with a 33-35 record in 68 games, which has them in a three-way tie with the Lakers (and Oklahoma City Thunder) for the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 3-7 in their last ten games but an outstanding 22-12 in the 34 games they have hosted on their home floor in New Orleans, Louisiana.

It's been an up-and-down season for the Pelicans due to injuries, but they are coming off an exciting season where they won their way through the play-in tournament (and took the Phoenix Suns to six games in the first round of the NBA Playoffs).

The Pelicans last played the Lakers in February (in Los Angeles), and the Lakers won 120-102.

Anthony Davis led the way with 28 points, ten rebounds and five assists.

Right now, the Lakers are also 33-35 in 68 games and were on a three-game winning streak before losing to the New York Knicks on Sunday night at home.

They are 7-3 in their last ten games and 15-19 in the 34 games they have played on the road.
