The Thunder are coming off a season where they were the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 40-42 record.

They beat the New Orleans Pelicans in their first play-in tournament game but lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second (so they missed the NBA playoffs).

That said, the season was still a success, and the Thunder will be seen as a legitimate contender to be a top-eight seed in the Western Conference this season.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become one of the top 15 players in the league, and they have an abundance of young talent.

As for the Bulls, they made the NBA playoffs in 2022 but had a disappointing year last season.

They were the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-42 record and beat the Toronto Raptors (on the road) in their first play-in tournament game.

However, they lost to the Miami Heat in the second and missed the NBA playoffs for the fifth time in the previous six seasons.

The Bulls have a very talented roster led by DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, so they will have an excellent chance of returning to the playoffs in 2024.
