UPDATE: Zion Williamson's Current Injury Status For Pelicans-Lakers Game

Zion Williamson is on the injury report for Friday's game.

On Friday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans will be in California to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers.  

For the game, they could be without one of their best players, as 2021 NBA All-Star Zion Williamson is on the injury report.

Williamson has played in 41 games and is averaging 22.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 58.6% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range.  

The Pelicans are the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 30-21 record in 51 games.  

They are in the middle of a four-game winning streak and are 6-4 over their last ten games. 

Most recently, the Pelicans beat James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 117-106 (on the road). 

In 35 minutes of playing time, Williamson had 21 points, three rebounds, ten assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 7/16 from the field.

Following the Lakers, the Pelicans will remain on the road and visit Malcolm Brogdon and the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday evening in Oregon. 

As for the Lakers, they are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-26 record in 53 games. 

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently lost to Nikola Jokic and the the Denver Nuggets by a score of 114-106 (at home). 

Following the Pelicans, the Lakers will remain at home to host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles.
