UPDATE: Zion Williamson's Status For Pelicans-Rockets Game

Zion Williamson is questionable for Friday's game.

UPDATE: Zion Williamson will be available, according to Christian Clark of Nola.com.

On Friday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans will be in Texas to face off against the Houston Rockets.  

For the game, they could be without one of their best players, as Zion Williamson is listed as questionable.

Williamson has played in six games this season and is averaging 21.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists per contest while shooting 50.5% from the field.    

The Pelicans have gone 4-4 in their first eight games and most recently lost 122-101 to the Minnesota Timberwolves (Williamson did not play in the game). 

Brandon Ingram led the team with 24 points in 32 minutes of playing time.  

Williamson was the first pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career with New Orleans. 

He is coming off a year where he played in 29 regular season games with averages of 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 60.8% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range. 

Following the Rockets, the Pelicans will play their next game against the Dallas Mavericks (at home) on Sunday. 

As for the Rockets, they are 4-3 in their first seven games and most recently defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 128-94. 

Jalen Green led the team with 28 points and seven rebounds. 

Following the Pelicans, the Rockets will play their next game on Sunday evening when they host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
