2021 NBA 1st Round Pick Is Still A Free Agent

Josh Christopher, who has spent the last two seasons with the Houston Rockets, is a free agent.

Josh Christopher is coming off a year where he played in 64 regular season games for the Houston Rockets.

The 21-year-old averaged 5.8 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 46.5% from the field and 23.6% from the three-point range.

This summer, Christopher was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, but he was waived last month.

On October 9, he still remains a free agent who is available to be signed by any team in the league.

Christopher was initially the 24th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball with Arizona State.

He has spent two years in the NBA (all with the Rockets) and has career averages of 6.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 45.5% from the field and 27.7% from the three-point range in 138 regular season games.

Christopher has also played eight games in the G League (over two seasons) for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

His career averages are an impressive 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 52.1% from the field and 29.0% from the three-point range.

Since Christopher is still so young, he could be an excellent addition to many teams and will be a name to watch over the next few weeks.

As for the Rockets, they are coming off a year where they were the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record.

They missed the postseason for the third straight year.
