2021 NBA Champion Reportedly Arrested On Wednesday

According to Dillon Collier of KSAT 12, Bryn Forbes has been arrested. The 29-year-old has played for the San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Over the offseason, Bryn Forbes signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he was recently waived last week

The 29-year-old is currently a free agent available to be signed by any team in the league.

In 25 games with the Timberwolves, he averaged 3.6 points per contest.

However, Dillon Collier of KSAT 12 reported on Wednesday morning that the veteran guard had been arrested.

Via Collier: "DEVELOPING Former Spurs guard Bryn Forbes arrested in San Antonio overnight. Booked this morning on a misdemeanor family violence charge. San Antonio police said he assaulted someone he is in a dating relationship with. Arrested around 5:15 am at La Cantera Resort & Spa #KSATnews"

The disturbing allegation could play a significant role in a team willing to sign him for the rest of the season.

Before the Timberwolves, he also had stints with the San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks.

His longest tenure came with the Spurs, where he spent the first four seasons of his career (and 40 games during the 2021-22 season).

In three out of his first six seasons, the former Michigan State star averaged 10.0+ points per contest, so he is a talented scorer despite being one of the smaller players in the league.

With the Bucks, Forbes won the 2021 NBA Championship (over the Phoenix Suns), and he averaged 6.6 points per contest (while shooting 37.1% from the three-point range) in 20 playoff games that season.

His career averages are 8.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest on 41.0% shooting from the three-point range (in 431 games).
