2021 NBA Champion Reportedly Arrested On 3rd Degree Felony Charge

According to Mariah Medina of News 4 San Antonio, NBA Champion Bryn Forbes was arrested.

Bryn Forbes most recently played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season when he appeared in 25 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves.  

The 30-year-old is currently a free agent.

On Tuesday, Mariah Medina of News 4 San Antonio reported that Forbes was arrested on a 3rd degree felony charge.

Via Medina: "JUST IN: Bryn Forbes has been arrested on a 3rd degree felony charge of assault strangulation/choking of a family member. Sources say a warrant was issued for his arrest yesterday."

Medina reported that his bond was set at $7,500, and she also added more details on the disturbing allegations.   

Via Medina: "According to court documents, Forbes struck the mother of his two children before choking her. 

He allegedly told her “if you can speak then you are not being choked” when she told him she couldn’t breathe."

Forbes played four seasons of college basketball (two for Cleveland State and two for Michigan State). 

During the 2014-15 season, he helped lead the Spartans to the Final Four.

Forbes went undrafted in 2016 and spent the first four seasons of his career with the San Antonio Spurs. 

In addition to the Timberwolves and Spurs, he has also played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.

His career averages are 8.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 43.6% from the field and 41.0% from the three-point range in 431 games. 

He's also appeared in 42 playoff games and was with the Bucks when they won the 2021 NBA Championship.
