2023 Basketball Hall Of Fame Class Announced

Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Becky Hammon and Gregg Popovich are amongst notable finalists who have been elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2023.

Finalists who have been elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall-of-Fame class of 2023 have been announced, as ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Becky Hammon and Gregg Popovich will all be formally announced as Hall of Famers at the Final Four in Houston this upcoming weekend.

None of these names should be a shock in regards to making the Hall of Fame, as each of them have vast accomplishments in the NBA and WNBA.

Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker and Pau Gasol have all been to the NBA All-Star Game at least six times in their respective careers and each of them have won a championship.

Most notably known for being one of the best shooting guards in NBA history, Wade was an eight-time All-NBA performer, a three-time champion with the Miami Heat and named a member of the NBA's recent 75th anniversary team.

Spending all 21 years of his career with the Dallas Mavericks, Nowitzki is highly regarded as the best international player in NBA history, being named an All-Star 14 different times and making the All-NBA list in 12 different seasons.

Parker was the "ring leader" for the San Antonio Spurs dynasty through the 2000's and into the early 2010's. A six-time All-Star, four-time NBA champion and four-time All-NBA guard, Tony Parker was also the 2006-07 NBA Finals MVP.

Gasol, who recently had his number retired with the Los Angeles Lakers, was a six-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA performer who won two titles with the Lakers.

Becky Hammon is highly regarded as one of the best WNBA players of all-time and after spending time on Gregg Popovich's coaching staff in San Antonio, she now coaches the Las Vegas Aces, who recently won a title in 2022.

Saving the best for last, there are not many arguments you can make against Gregg Popovich for being the greatest basketball coach of all-time. He holds the record for most regular season wins by a head coach in league history and Popovich has led the Spurs to five titles since becoming their head coach in 1996.

This is one of the most decorated Hall of Fame classes in recent memory and all six are extremely deserving of this honor.
