8-Year NBA Veteran Reportedly Signs With Shanghai Sharks

According to Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype, Noah Vonleh has signed with the Shanghai Sharks.

Noah Vonleh is coming off a season where he played in 23 games for the Boston Celtics and averaged 1.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.8% from the field and 25.0% from the three-point range.

During the middle of the season, the Celtics traded Vonleh to the San Antonio Spurs, who waived the eight-year NBA veteran.

This summer, Vonleh was still a free agent, and Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype reports that he has signed with the Shanghai Sharks.

Vonleh was initially the ninth pick in the 2014 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball playing for the Indiana Hoosiers.

In addition to the Celtics, he has also played for the Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and Brooklyn Nets.

His career averages are 4.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.9% from the field and 30.7% from the three-point range in 362 regular season games.

He has also appeared in 11 NBA playoff games (with the Trail Blazers and Nuggets) and has averages of 1.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 36.4% from the field.

The best year of his pro-career came with the Knicks (in 2019) when he averaged a career-high 8.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest.

Vonleh came into the NBA at just 19, so he is still in the prime of his career (27), and could be a candidate to return to the league in the near future.
