Anthony Davis Made NBA History In Thunder-Lakers Game

Anthony Davis moved up on the NBA's all-time rebounding list.

On Monday evening, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder in California.  

During the game, Davis made NBA history by moving ahead of Kurt Thomas (7,328) for 99th on the all-time rebounding list

Following Thomas, the next player for Davis to pass will be Giannis Antetokounmpo (7,336). 

Davis came into the evening with averages of 25.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 blocks per contest while shooting 55.1% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range in 38 games. 

Despite his excellent start to the season, the Lakers have struggled and are currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 19-21 record in their first 40 games. 

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and most recently lost to the Utah Jazz by a score of 132-125 (in Salt Lake City). 

In 39 minutes of playing time, Davis had 15 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and four blocks while shooting 5/21 from the field. 

Following the Thunder, the Lakers will host Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday evening. 

Davis was the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky and is in his 13th season in the league (his fifth with the Lakers). 

The 2020 NBA Champion has impressive career averages of 24.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest while shooting 52.1% from the field and 30.1% from the three-point range in 698 games.
