Anthony Edwards Made NBA History In Timberwolves-Celtics Game

Anthony Edwards made NBA history during Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics played a thrilling game in Massachusetts.  

The Celtics won the game (in overtime) by a score of 127-120, and Jayson Tatum led the way with 45 points, four rebounds and two assists.  

Despite the loss, Anthony Edwards had a good game, putting up 29 points, six rebounds and three assists while shooting 11/25 from the field and 3/6 from the three-point range in 46 minutes of playing time. 

He also made NBA history.

Via NBA History: "With his first assist tonight, Anthony Edwards (22y, 158d) becomes the sixth player to record totals of 5K points, 1K rebounds, and 1K assists at 22 years of age or younger. He is the third youngest player to reach this total:

With the loss, the Timberwolves dropped to 26-11 in their first 37 games, which still has them as the first seed in the Western Conference. 

They are 5-5 over their last ten games and 12-9 in the 21 games they have played on the road. 

Following the Celtics, the Timberwolves will now return home to host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday evening at the Target Center. 

Edwards was the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is in his fourth season in the league. 

He has led the Timberwolves to the NBA playoffs in each of the previous two seasons.
