Anthony Edwards' Unbelievable Alley-Oop Is Going Viral In Grizzlies-Timberwolves Game

On Thursday evening, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are hosting the Memphis Grizzlies at the Target Center.  

During the second half, Edwards had a sensational highlight that went viral on social media. 

The All-Star guard picked up his dribble and threw the ball off the glass (to himself) for an alley-oop dunk.  

Edwards is one of the most exciting players in the NBA and came into the evening with averages of 26.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 46.2% from the field and 38.5% from the three-point range in 37 games. 

He has been the best player on the Timberwolves, who are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 29-11 record in their first 40 games.  

They are on the second night of a back-to-back after defeating the Detroit Pistons (in Michigan) by a score of 124-117.  

In 33 minutes of playing time, the former Georgia star had 27 points, five rebounds and eight assists while shooting 10/24 from the field and 3/8 from the three-point range. 

Following the Grizzlies, the Timberwolves will remain at home to host Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday evening at the Target Center. 

Edwards was the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is in his fourth season in the league (all with the Timberwolves). 

His career averages are 22.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 44.4% from the field and 35.6% from the three-point range in 260 games 

He has helped lead the Timberwolves to the NBA playoffs in each of the previous two seasons.
