Atlanta Hawks Make Roster Move Before Cavs Game

The Atlanta Hawks made a roster move before Saturday's game.

UPDATE: Kobe Bufkin was inactive for the game (h/t Brad Rowland of Locked on Hawks).

On Saturday evening, the Atlanta Hawks will host the Cleveland Cavaliers at State Farm Arena in Georgia.

Before the game, the team made a roster move by recalling Kobe Bufkin from the College Park Skyhawks (G League).

Via Hawks PR: "The Atlanta Hawks announced today that guard Kobe Bufkin has been recalled to the Atlanta Hawks from the College Park Skyhawks."

Bufkin was the 15th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Michigan and has played in two games with the Hawks.

In nine G League regular season games, he is averaging 22.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 29.6% from the three-point range.

As for the Hawks, they got off to a slow start to the season but are playing much better as of late.

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and are 6-4 over their last ten games.

Currently, the Hawks are the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference with an 18-23 record in their first 41 games.

Most recently, the team beat the Miami Heat (in Florida) by a score of 108-107 on Friday evening.

Following Cleveland, they will face off against the Sacramento Kings on Monday evening in California.

The Hawks have made the NBA playoffs in each of the previous three seasons and reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.

They are coming off a season where they lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.
