Ben Simmons' Bold Statement After Spurs-Nets Game

Ben Simmons made a bold statement after Saturday's game.

On Saturday evening, the Brooklyn Nets hosted Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs at Barclays Center in New York.

The Nets played a complete game and won by a score of 123-103 (they won every single quarter).

Ben Simmons had a solid performance and put up 13 points, three rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks while shooting 6/7 from the field in 22 minutes of playing time off the bench.

The three-time NBA All-Star has dealt with injuries over the past few years and only appeared in 11 games this season.

After the win, Simmons shared a bold statement (h/t Michael Scotto of HoopsHype).

Simmons: "Feeling better. It takes time. It's one of those things where it's up and down each day, but I'm just staying with it. The storm doesn't last forever. I'm going to get back to where I was."

Despite his limited time on the court, Simmons has been productive and is averaging 7.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest while shooting 62.7% from the field.

At one point, the former LSU star was regarded among the best young players in the league and looked like he was going to be a superstar.

The Nets are currently the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 21-31 record in 52 games.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and will remain at home to host Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics on Tuesday evening.

At Barclays Center, the Nets are 13-16 in 29 games.
