Boston Celtics Player Still Being Paid $250,000 By The Sacramento Kings

Neemias Queta is still being paid by the Sacramento Kings.

Neemias Queta is currently in his first season playing for the Boston Celtics and is averaging 4.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 60.5% from the field in 25 games.

The former Utah State star signed a two-way deal with the Celtics over the offseason.

Prior to signing with Boston, Queta (who was the 39th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft) had spent the first two seasons of his career with the Sacramento Kings.

He was waived by the Kings in September.

Queta had a partial contract guarantee, so Sacramento is still paying him $250,000 through the remainder of the season (h/t Sam Yip of HoopsHype, Spotrac and Yossi Gozlan of capsheets.com).

Queta's career averages are 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 56.3% from the field in 45 regular season games.

In addition to his time with the Kings and Celtics, Queta has also spent a lot of time in the G League.

He has played in five G League regular season games for the Maine Celtics (this season) and is averaging 13.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 63.6% from the field.

As for the Celtics, they have been the best team in the NBA and are 54-14 in 68 games.

They have gone 8-2 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a six-game winning streak.

On Wednesday evening, the Celtics will play their next game when they host Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks in Boston.
